I checked back again just now, and the problem has persisted for this entire time. It's now been nearly thirty-eight hours since I submitted the wallpaper in question, and it still shows all the same stats as it did an hour afterward. I even tried emptying the cache and refreshing to see if that helped at all, but nothing's worked thus far.

f

I did a little poking around the first page and didn't see anything that seemed to correspond with my problem; if I missed the topic, sorry. I'm feeling pretty sick right now, and so I'm not really in the mood to do hardcore searching through the forum.

I first noticed this with my own latest submission, but, after doing a little poking around, it seems as though it's occuring with most of the more recent submissions. The view page of these submissions seems to be frozen at a point not long after the submission; from what I can tell, around an hour or less; and nothing on these pages seems to be updating, even though notifs of their change in real time are still being posted. As an example, my latest wallpaper was submitted around 15 or 16 hours ago, and it's still showing as having been submitted 1 hour, 3 minutes ago. The number of views and downloads hasn't changed on the page since last night, despite having checked in on it a few times since then, myself; and the number of favorites is marked as 0, though I've received notifs for two favorites since then. I've tried viewing my wallpaper, and some of the others that I've noticed with the same problem, in multiple very solid, high-performing browsers, and I get the same result.

I can't speak for any other submitters, but the only thing that I can think of that I may have done that may have influenced this is that, right around the time that it became frozen, I updated the wallpaper--I'd originally forgotten to put credit in the wallpaper itself, and so I uploaded the corrected version around an hour after I had originally loaded it. Though when I click on the thumbnail, the updated wallpaper appears no matter what the browser, in some browsers the thumbnail appears updated, while in others it doesn't.

Just to let you know, I've only checked the recent submissions in anime wallpapers, and no other category. Here is the link to my wallpaper's view page (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/253644/) and the two other wallpapers that I've checked so far (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/253756/) (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/253744/).

Not a big deal, but, for me, anyway, it occasionally seems to be taking a while to be alerted of new notifications. Most of the time its fine, but every now and then, I'll get a notification, but it won't show up on the main pages until an hour or so later. Or is it like that all the time, and I'm just crazy? ^_^'

f

Yeah, I noticed that when I tried it out... I may try a different link color, or maybe I'll restore the white section... ^^; Anyway, thanks very much for the compliments ^^

f

:D

Made a new userpage based on my newest wallie (CHECK IT OUT, IT HAS A DERNIERCRI STAMP OF APPROVAL XD~), and so... it's cool. My fourth userpage (if you don't count the horrible help that I gave my brother on his second one XD), and so...

This is my first userpage that doesn't have completely transparent boxes. I'm using semi-transparent ones on my own page, as well as a different font that doesn't mesh with the userpage too well, so I'll probably going back to default font soon, since that's what the page was made for.

Er... that's pretty much it. So just check out my nu userpage! (@ http://makhan.minitokyo.net/ , silly!)

f

Saki... have you, by chance, been talking to a person named omni? o_O;

It's pretty good, kinda broomish, if you know what I mean. ^_^'

f

Whee! Wode dage de userpage tai hao le!

XP

Great work, Ge, I've really got nothing bad to say about it. :D

f

Minitokyo has support for Kanji?

o_0

Oh, and Camino kixxorz firefox's butt...zorz. >_>

But you need a mac for that, too, so yeah, windows people have to use Firefox.

HAH!

f

This new game will cover the adventures of a red-headed human named Adel and the daughter of the Demon Overlord Xenon, Rosary (or else Rosari/Rosalinde). The human world was cursed fifteen years ago by Xenon and the humans started to turn into demons. Adel, for some reason, is the only human unaffected. He attempts to confront Xenon by summoning him, but somehow accidentally calls up the Overlord's (very weak) daughter instead, Rosary. Etna appears, and may play a large role, and the prinnies return as well.

Whether Laharl or the rest of the gang shows up is currently unknown (though assumed to be true). Alexander and Val Volga from Makai Kingdom show up as summons. The Archer gets her bow back.

Quote by PonzuYours is too... 7.5/10

Well it would be. It's an enlarged cutout of one of my wallpapers.

Would be better with a border and if it was a bit more saturated. 6.5/10

f

Is that an enlarged selection from my wallpaper? :hmpf:

Um... how am I supposed to rate that? o_0

f

Em....

Find weird font, put caps lock on, type name, and crop.

1/10. Sorry, but it just doesn't have any work put into it. Or at least it looks that way.

f

Oh, goooooooooood, I miss living in Singapore. Getting games was so much easier there! >.< XD

Incidentally, what do you think of the art? This is the first major Nippon Ichi game I've heard of that doesn't use Harada-san's art... though the pictures I've seen look pretty good.

f

The graphics are much better... I hope that the gameplay can similarly improve. The original four had a great story, but awful gameplay.

f

Woah... ^_^' hahaha, didn't think I'd get so many replies. Anyway, thanks for all the tips! I'll try some of them out... eventually.... >.<

So busy, busy, busy... I hate the end of the school year. XO

f

'Sokay, Calisqo, it's hard to describe... lemme see. I was using a kof scan... where is it?

Ah. http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/40930/ I just want to get rid of the white background...

f

Er, no... rather like... hmmm...

Hard to say. Lemme see if I can find a scan that demonstrates it. Or even the scan that I'm talking about. XP

f

Thanks for the tip, exentric-san, I'll try it out. Guess there isn't any easy way around it, huh? Ah, well, I'll give it my all.

Thanks, mina-san!

f

Oh, that's essentially exactly the same as the polygonal lasso tool... I was asking for a scan that didn't have clear cut edges. For instance... If I wanted to get rid of the white background here, but keep the effects behind the characters, how do I do that? >.<

f

Pen tool? How would you use that to extract?

The only use the pen tool has had for me is for vector style graphics.

f

Like I said, it didn't fit well. It's just the closest thing I could think of... ^^'

This is actually pretty hard.

BTW: I dun want any Jabba, either, it's just what was on the top of my head at the time. XD

f

Sure, I've been walling for a few months now, so I'm quite familiar with the extraction process at this point. However, there's still one thing I'm not entirely sure what to do about. If you have a picture where there are no lines--for instance, a gradient fade, or something of that nature--how should one go about extracting it? Obviously the hard-edged polygonal lasso won't do. Is there any way to remove a background color from something like this short of redrawing that part of the scan?

f

I like the black and white Lain look you've got going... my only complaint is that it's quite difficult to read. >.< If you could change the link color from that background gray color, it'd stand out a lot more. 8.5/10

f

Random ecchi... :bleargh: Your last one was better.

2/10
